FAQ
1. What is the difference between fish oil and Neptune Krill OilŽ?
A. Neptune Krill OilŽ is different from fish oil because the omega-3 fatty acids are attached to phospholipids whereas the omega-3 in fish oil is attached to triglycerides. The phospholipids contribute to a better absorption and utilization of the EPA & DHA by the cells, making Neptune Krill OilŽ more bioeffective than fish oil.
B. Neptune Krill OilŽ contains a powerful antioxidant known as astaxanthin. The presence of astaxanthin in Neptune Krill OilŽ combined with other naturally occurring antioxidants in the oil (vitamins E and A) create exceptional protection against oxidation of the oil, making it stable for a long time. It also protects the body against free radical attacks which can cause aging of the cells. Antioxidants are usually added in fish oil to prevent the oil from oxidizing as they do not have any on their own.
C. One of the side effects of fish oil is regurgitation. The different digestion mechanism of phospholipids in Neptune Krill OilŽ prevents any regurgitation side-effects usually experienced when consuming fish oil.
D. Krill is at the bottom of the food chain, therefore does not accumulate as many toxins and heavy metals as fish oil. This results in a safer and purer product than the standard fish oils on the market.
E. Most of the studies that have been conducted on Neptune Krill OilŽ have been done in comparison to fish oil, and have demonstrated Neptune Krill OilŽs superiority. Also, most of the studies conducted with fish oils were done with very high dosages. The daily dosages recommended on the market are inferior to those used in the clinical studies, therefore cannot guarantee a human benefit.
2. Are all krill oils the same?
There are different qualities of krill oil on the market that are provided by different suppliers. Neptune Krill OilŽ is a superior oil, with the highest levels of EPA, DHA and astaxanthin. Not all krill oils on the market are 100% derived from krill. Neptune Krill OilŽ is the only krill oil on the market clinically proven to benefit cardiovascular, cognitive, joint and womens health. Other krill oils cannot use the benefits associated with the studies as their compositions and extraction procedures are not the same.
